Volume 1      Issue 2
Dear Parents,

Sunday, May 14th was Mother’s Day. We hope all mothers had a happy, relaxing day, maybe even breakfast in bed!

May is National Physical Education and Sports month. Unfortunately, due to the new grass needing a little more time to take root, Jr. Olympics week scheduled for this month will be moved to June 5th through June 9th.

Every month students research a state for geography. The state for May is Utah. Students will use the encyclopedia, internet, and other resources to collect information on Utah. So, parents you may be asked if you know anything about Utah.

Junior high students only will begin CTBS assessment on May 15th and will finish in time to have a nice break when they leave on May 18th for a four day field trip. They will head for Fort Tejon to watch a reenactment of one the battles of the Civil War.

Parent, teacher, and student conferences begin May 22nd for K through 6th grades.

K and 8th grade students will have pictures taken in cap and gown on Monday, May 22nd.

June is Safety month, Animal Appreciation month, and Dairy month. The state is Wisconsin.

The fourteenth annual school picnic will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Watch for a volunteer sign-up sheet on the front door. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be the main dishes. A pot luck menu will be posted also. The hamburgers and hot dogs will be donated and cooked by Mr. Stefanidis. Thank you, Mr. Stefanidis.

The eighth grade students will have a graduation activity on Thursday, June 15th. The activity will be announced at a later date. Watch for information to come home with your child.

We will end our 7 weeks academic session with an awards assembly on June 16th.

The waiting is over for the playground to be finished. We have new grass, playground bark under the play structures, and more plants along the fence line.

Everything looks great!
